Iraq imports around 90% of what it consumes, and Iraqna Group realizes the pressing need for the Iraqi industry to achieve self-sufficiency through the local production of many products that are currently being imported. Therefore, Iraqna has targeted polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic products, particularly since the local manufacturers of products that use PET are forced to import all the PET rolls they need from neighboring countries. In 2017, and in collaboration with Korean companies, Iraqna took the initiative to establish Al Mabrook Plastic Industries Co., and during its first stage of operations it started to produce PET rolls for the first time in Iraq and distribute them all over the country, and in the second stage it began molding all kinds of PET plastic products, while the third stage involved managing a distribution network which covers Baghdad and the southern region. We are currently planning to begin producing sanitary care products such as tampons, baby diapers, and sanitary napkins for the first time in Iraq.
