Besmayah New City is the biggest strategic governmental residential project in the history of Iraq. The National Investment Commission (NIC) is planning to build over 100,000 apartments targeting the middle class at affordable prices. In October 2019, Iraqna won the tender of Besmayah management, services, and maintenance for 10 years. With initial investments of over USD 3 million in camps, offices, machinery, equipment, and training, Iraqna has started its operation in March 2020 to serve the residents of 15,000 currently occupied units, with planned investments valued at over USD 20 million during the various stages of Besmayah City’s development.
